The AHEC-SW Texarkana Community Care Clinic, formerly CHRISTUS Medical Group Family Clinic of Texarkana, cares for the newborn, children of all ages, adults and the elderly. Health care and a wide range of diagnostic services are offered to all patients.

Appointments

To ensure prompt service, our physicians see patients primarily by appointment. We accept walk-in patients as the schedule permits. Appointments may be scheduled by calling (870) 779 6000. We ask that you be on time for your appointment. If you are a new patient, please come 30 minutes early to complete necessary paperwork. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call our office 24 hours in advance when possible.

If you call and the nurses are unavailable, please leave your name, birthday and telephone number where you can be reached.  Medical Emergencies should be addressed at CHRISTUS St. Michael Health Care System or Wadley Regional Medical Center.

Insurance/Billing

AHEC Texarkana Community Clinic requires all insurance co-payments and deductibles to be paid at the time of service. Your payment may be made with cash, check or credit card.

A Patient Account Representative will be able to help with any questions or payment arrangements. You may also make changes of insurance or billing information with this department. Patient accounts may be reached at (870) 779 6086.

Your payment may be made at the reception desk. Our insurance department will file your insurance claims for you. Your health insurance is a contract between you and your insurance company. The balance not paid will ultimately be your responsibility.

AHEC Texarkana Community Clinic accepts Texas and Arkansas Medicaid, Medicare and most private insurance. To ensure prompt medical attention please verify that Medicaid has AHEC Family Clinic designated as your Primary Care Physician.
